We adopted Katie (Formerly Uniquewa) from the A.R.C in March 2007.  Katie was a very scared 8 month old pup, with a tremendous fear of people.  We knew that we would have a lot of work ahead of us when we took her home, but her transformation has been nothing short of amazing. Our first few weeks involved having to carry her outside, encouraging her off the couch and giving her a lot of love.  We received much support and encouragement from the staff at the A.R.C.   She has transformed into the most affectionate, fun and well behaved girl.  We spend a lot of time taking her to off leash parks, play groups and this summer she has experienced camping and canoeing for the first time.  Adopting Katie was the best decision we have made.  She has really enriched our lives, and the love she gives us everyday makes all of the hard work in the beginning well worth it!
