Snuggles
Active ImageHello D'Arcy's Arc volunteers and all fellow animal lovers.  I just wanted to update my dog Snuggles page on the D'Arcy's Arc Alumni list since it has been a few years since the initial posting.

Snuggles was adopted from D'Arcy's Arc in May 2001 at the age of approximately 6 months.  She is a female Maltese, born deaf with a very friendly and curious personality.  Upon learning that she was deaf, we were a bit concerned as to what challenges may lay ahead regarding her training, personality and temperment.  With a stable daily routine and a few 5-10 minute daily training sessions, her transition to her new home was very smooth.  She was able to learn sign language and in just a few weeks learned the commands "sit," "stay," "lie down," "come," "shake a paw," "jump on the couch," "let's go for a walk," "time to eat," "good girl" and "bedtime." Her housebreaking period for going to the bathroom outside in the yard took almost no time at all.  I still can't believe how easily trained she was. Although petite and cuddly looking, she is a strong energetic little dog who loves her daily walks and lots of playtime.
She is friendly around people and animals and always has time to meet and greet with a friendly wag of her tail.  For treats, we discovered that she prefers the softer "pepperoni" type treats as opposed to the harder dog biscuit treats. For playtime, she loves her plush toys the most (especially her black/white soccer ball and white bunny rabbit).  She just loves it when her plush soccer ball toy is tossed down the hallway so she can run after it. We are sure to spoil her rotten and have a full chest of plush toys for her to play with.  She has a very good collection of many toys, some still unopened and packed away in case her current favourites need to be replaced from wear and tear or washing.

THANK YOU D'Arcy's A.R.C. for bringing Snuggles into our lives. She has made us smile and laugh on a daily basis with her active and loveable personality.  PLEASE KNOW that you have found her a great home and that she is very very happy.  We will continue to spoil and pamper her as much as possible all the days of her life. She has been a joy to our lives and she can look forward to many more years of playtime, pampering, walks and even MORE treats and her favourite plush toys to play with.
